Krista Petersen
Hi, I’m Krista a Certified Registered Dental Hygienist with 19 years of clinical experience and a passion for helping people restore healthy, natural function.
My work is rooted in a strong understanding of oral health, head and neck anatomy, and the intricate connection between the mouth, airway, function and the rest of the body. Through my training in local anesthetic administration at the University of Manitoba, I developed a deep appreciation for the structures that support breathing, chewing, swallowing, and overall stability.
Over the years, I began to see how many common concerns — disrupted sleep, orthodontic relapse, mouth breathing, digestive discomfort, speech challenges, jaw tension, and postural imbalance — are often connected to functional patterns and airway health. This understanding led me to pursue myofunctional therapy, where I now focus on identifying and retraining the habits that influence long-term wellness.
With more than two decades of yoga practice and instruction, I bring a holistic lens to my care. Breath, posture, muscle balance, and nervous system regulation are all part of the conversation. I believe true healing happens when we support the body as a whole, not just isolated symptoms.
At Myo in the Bow, I provide thoughtful, individualized therapy for both children and adults. I take a collaborative approach, working alongside dentists, orthodontists, physicians, and other healthcare providers to support airway health and functional stability.
My goal is to help you — or your child — breathe well, sleep deeply, and develop sustainable habits that allow the body to function as it was designed to. Care is always personalized, gentle, and rooted in respect for your unique journey toward whole-body wellness.
