Krista Petersen

Welcome, my name is Krista and I would like to share a little bit about myself. I have been working as a Certified Registered Dental Hygienist for 17 years, and for the last few years have been working towards becoming a myofuntional therapist. My work is grounded in a strong clinical foundation, and a deep respect for the connection between oral health and whole-body wellness. I have also trained at the University of Manitoba in local anesthetic administration, which has given me an in depth understanding of head and neck anatomy. I have spent over two decades immersed in yoga practice and instruction which is an experience that has shaped my understanding of breath, movement, and postural balance.

At Myo in the Bow, I specialize in identifying and treating orofacial myofunctional disorders. These are habits and patterns involving our breathing, chewing and swallowing that change over time and can impact sleep, digestion and posture. I use a collaborative approach along with other healthcare providers, and strive to provide each client with a personalized and balanced treatment plan, based on individualized care.
Whether you’re navigating sleep issues orthodontic changes, breathing and chewing disorders or speech concerns. My goal is to help my clients naturally restore whole body function, and become more mindful of the behaviours that will help achieve overall well-being from the inside out.
